How I rebuilt a coaching website into a faster premium brand experience

A recruiter reached out about rebuilding the old Bola Matel-Okoh website because it did not reflect the brand professionally as a premium coaching business.

Background

A recruiter reached out to me about rebuilding the Bola Matel-Okoh website. The issue was not that the old site had no information. The issue was that it did not reflect the brand professionally enough for a premium coaching business. For a personal brand in coaching and leadership, the website needs to create trust quickly. Visitors should feel that the coach is credible, polished, and intentional before they ever fill a form or book a conversation.

This project became a full brand-presentation rebuild. I needed to improve the visual quality, page hierarchy, content flow, and performance while keeping the site clear for visitors who may be learning about the brand for the first time.

The Problem

The old site did not match the level of authority the brand wanted to communicate. The pages felt less premium than the coaching offer. The content needed better structure, the visuals needed stronger hierarchy, and the overall experience needed to feel more deliberate.

For coaching brands, perception matters. A visitor is not only evaluating information. They are evaluating trust, professionalism, confidence, and whether the brand feels aligned with the outcome they want. That shaped the entire redesign.

My Role

I handled the redesign and rebuild. Unlike the Luminous client projects, this one is written in first person because I was directly responsible for the creative and frontend direction. I worked on the visual structure, page layouts, performance improvements, and the overall browsing experience.

Design Direction

I redesigned the website around a more premium, editorial presentation. The goal was to make the brand feel confident without making the interface feel heavy. I focused on cleaner spacing, stronger section rhythm, clearer page introductions, and more intentional use of imagery.

The homepage became the key trust-building surface. It needed to introduce the brand, communicate authority, and guide visitors into the services and supporting content. The about page needed to feel personal but still professional. The services page needed a clearer conversion path so visitors could understand the coaching offer without digging through scattered content.

Content And Page Structure

I tightened the page hierarchy across the site. The redesign separates brand storytelling, service explanation, credibility signals, and contact actions more clearly. This matters because visitors do not read every word in order. They scan, compare, and decide whether the brand feels credible enough to continue.

The gallery and podcast pages were also part of the rebuild because they support authority. Instead of treating them as secondary pages, I redesigned them to feel like part of the same brand system. This made the overall site more cohesive.

Performance Work

A premium site should not only look polished. It should feel fast. I optimized the rebuild so the site loads in under 2 seconds. That performance target was important because slow pages weaken trust and increase friction, especially for visitors coming from mobile or social traffic.

The performance work focused on keeping the pages lighter, reducing unnecessary bloat, and making sure the visual upgrades did not make the site feel slow.

Before And After

The gallery below shows before and after comparisons across the homepage, about page, services page, gallery, contact page, and podcast page. These comparisons are important because the value of the project is visual and experiential. The rebuild did not only change isolated sections; it changed how the brand feels.

Result

The final site presents Bola Matel-Okoh as a more polished, premium coaching brand. The pages are clearer, the visual identity feels more professional, and the experience loads quickly. The rebuild gives the brand a stronger first impression and a better foundation for future coaching inquiries, content, and campaigns.
